8A little bit about myself. I graduated from Bridgewater State University with my Masters in Elementary Education. Prior to that I received my Bachelors degree in World History and Special Education. I am licensed in both General Education and Special Education for grades K-6. I have worked in several classrooms so far in my career as an educator from 2nd grade up to high school. This will be my 8th year of teaching.
I grew up in Stoughton, MA and remained there for most of my life. After meeting my husband, we decided to move closer to the water. We picked up our two French bulldogs (Bubba and Mitty) and moved to Cape Cod, MA. We loved the water but needed some more sunshine. We researched a few places but fell in love with South Carolina! The rest is history! Our two dogs enjoy getting into trouble. We love to take them on as many outdoor adventures as we can. Our little guys can swim (not well but we're working on it), love to hike and even enjoy kayaking and SUP. When the weather is not cooperating, I enjoy building and rescuing old furniture. I enjoy working with wood and breathing new life into old or discarded pieces. Still learning myself, I will often jump at the opportunity to try something new when it comes to education. I believe in many of the new pedagogies and various technology that has found it's way into our classroom and our student's hearts. My motto is that we can try anything until it doesn't work and then we'll try something else. I am looking forward to teaching and getting to know everyone this year as we work together to decide what works best for our classroom. "You can handle anything if you think you can. Just keep your cool and your sense of humor." Smiley Blanton |
